From simple trails to hardcore hiking, this list will give you a variety of options that will make you want to put on your hiking shoes and hit the beaten path.

Appalachian Trail

The Appalachian Trail starts at Springer Mountain in Georgia and extends for 79 miles where it ends at Bly Gap. This trail is best for more advanced hikers and features rock terrain and high altitudes of more than 4,400 feet. When you get to the top, you can sit back and take in the gorgeous views of Blood Mountain, and at the lowest point of the trail, you can enjoy Dicks Creek Gap. If you want to make a backpacking trip out of it, reserve a campsite to set up camp at night so you can start your hiking adventure again in the morning fresh and ready to take on the day.

Benton MacKaye Section II Trail

The Benton MacKaye features several trails with Benton MacKaye Section II being a great choice for intermediate hikers. The total trail length is 11.3 miles and you can enjoy streams, waterfalls, rugged terrain, and even a swinging bridge along your journey. The trail starts at Three Forks and intersects with several other trails including the Appalachian Trail. The Benton MacKaye Section II Trail features climbs and descents, so come prepared with durable hiking boots to keep you steady.

Lake Zwerner Trail

Lake Zwerner Trail takes you around the Dahlonega reservoir and is located only a quick mile from town. This trail is relatively easy and is great for families or inexperienced hikers. The trail is a total of 3.1 miles and has even terrain except for a few slight inclines on the path. There is plenty of parking near the trail as well as toilets so you won’t have to worry about amenities being close at hand.

Woody Gap/Preachers Rock Trail

The Woody Gap/Preachers Rock Trail is located along the Appalachian Trail and is a quick mile-long hike that’s perfect for beginners and families with smaller children. Along the way, you can take in the breathtaking views of Big Cedar Mountain as well as enjoy the beautiful bold colors of nature. With several other stunning views along the way, Wood Gap/Preachers Rock is a great trail to hike in practically any season.

Mill Shoals Trail

This easy trail is 2.4 miles in length and chock-full of exciting views and gorgeous greenery. The trail itself is an easy hike and intersects with Cooper Creek Trail and Yellow Mountain Trail. From the streams to the white pine trees, you can’t go wrong with the Mill Shoals Trail.

The base trim level of the 2020 Ford EcoSport is S.
