Trim Levels (Exterior)

The 2018 Ford F-250 is available in five trim levels. These are XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum. You can further customize the truck to your needs by choosing a regular cab, SuperCab (extended), or crew cab, as well as either a 6.75-foot or 8-foot bed length. From the outside, the XL trim level has black bumpers and a matching grille, 17-inch steel wheels, automatic headlights, a removable locking tailgate with lift assist, a 2.5-inch trailer hitch receiver, manual front locking hubs, and front tow hooks. Step up to the XLT to get chrome exterior accents, 18-inch alloy wheels, heated and power-adjustable side mirrors with integrated turn signal indicators, and locking cleats in the bed. The midlevel Lariat offers fog lights, an auto-dimming driver's side mirror, tubular side steps, and a power-sliding rearview mirror. The King Ranch has Western-themed elements, unique alloy wheels, LED box lighting, and automatic wipers. At the top of the options, the Platinum offers LED fog lights, taillights, and headlights; power running boards; 20-inch alloy wheels; and a remote tailgate release.

Engine (Power)

Every model of the 2018 F-250 comes standard with a 6.2-liter gas-powered V-8 engine that pumps out 430 pound-feet of torque and 385 horsepower. You can also upgrade to a 6.7-liter turbodiesel V-8, producing an impressive 440 horsepower and 925 pound-feet of torque. Both engines work with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Performance

Rear-wheel drive is the standard configuration across all trim levels of the 2018 Ford F-250. If you prefer four-wheel drive, this addition is available as an upgrade to any model. When properly equipped, this pickup can tow conventional trailers weighing up to 18,000 pounds and gooseneck/fifth-wheel trailers weighing up to 18,600 pounds. With rear-wheel drive, the max payload capacity is 4,200 pounds, while four-wheel drive models can haul up to 3,450 pounds.

Interior

Within the cabin of the 2018 F-250 base trim level, features include vinyl upholstery and flooring, a four-speaker sound system with an auxiliary jack, split-folding bench seats, an overhead storage console, and a driver information display screen. The XLT adds power accessories, cloth upholstery, carpeted flooring, a 4.2-inch central display screen, Ford's Sync infotainment system with voice controls, and a USB charging port. Within the midlevel Lariat, features include dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather upholstery, Sync 3, an 8-inch touch screen, and a high-end Sony 10-speaker sound system. Choose the King Ranch to get heated and ventilated front seats, driver memory settings, navigation, and a heated steering wheel. The high-end Platinum trim boasts multicontoured front seats.

Safety Features

Every 2018 Ford F-250 truck comes with traction and stability control, a postcrash alert system, the MyKey system for teen drivers, anti-lock brakes, plenty of air bags, hill-start assist, and trailer sway control. A rearview camera is standard on the upper four trim levels. Features on some of the higher trims include rear parking sensors, a surround-view camera system, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning with intervention, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control with precollision warning and braking.
