2021 Ford Escape

With four trims to choose from, the S, SES, SEL, and top-tier Titanium, it's easy to find the perfect Ford Escape to suit your needs. If you're interested in a hybrid or plug-in hybrid Escape, you can get one in all but the base S trim. The 2021 Escape has sleek lines and sculpted body panels that help to give this SUV a sporty, modern appearance. From the front, you'll notice the uniquely shaped grille, angular headlights, and a sloping hood that draws the eye across the raked roof to the rear of the SUV. Multispoke wheels add to the contemporary appearance of the 2021 Ford Escape.

The Edge has plenty of power with the two engine options. Standard across the lineup is a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine that delivers 181 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. Both the SEL and Titanium trims have the option to upgrade to a 2.0-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost engine with an output of 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission pairs with both of these engines. If you choose the hybrid or plug-in hybrid, the SUV comes with the 1.5-liter engine paired with an electric motor that combined puts out 200 horsepower. A continuously variable transmission pairs with the hybrid Escape versions.

No matter where you're driving, you'll notice how well the 2021 Escape handles with its front and rear stabilizer bars, front independent suspension system, and Ford's curve, traction, and stability control system. All four trims come with front-wheel drive or choose the optional intelligent all-wheel-drive system available for the SEL and Titanium trim. This compact SUV has a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds when it's properly equipped.

With two rows of seats, up to five people ride comfortably with plenty of legroom, headroom, and shoulder room for everyone. As you move up the trims, the Escape comes with leather upholstery, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel, and a power-adjustable driver's seat with lumbar support. Several features found on the upper trims such as a panoramic sunroof, hands-free liftgate, and heated rear seats are available for the lower trims. Depending on the seating configurations, you can get up to 65.4 cubic feet of storage space. Across the lineup, the Escape comes with Ford's infotainment system with an 8-inch touch screen and an available 12.3 digital instrument cluster. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration come standard on all the 2021 Escape trims. Available features include voice navigation, Alexa integration, FordPass Connect, and a Wi-Fi hot spot.

All of the 2021 Escape trims come with Ford's Co-Pilot360 suite of driver-assist features including, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control.
