Performance
The powerful Escape offers the ultimate in performance options with three engines: a 1.5-liter turbo three-cylinder, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder, and a 2.5-liter hybrid. Each engine comes with both front-wheel drive and an optional all-wheel drive. The 1.5-liter version delivers 180 HP, while the 2.0-liter engine produces 250 HP. And the 200 HP 2.5-liter hybrid will save you money on fuel while still delivering excellent performance.
The Escape also comes with selectable driving modes: Eco, Sport, Normal, Slippery, and Deep Snow/Sand. These driving modes help you handle the roads better by modifying and adapting your vehicle’s traction and electronic stability control.
Hybrid Option
The Escape Hybrid features a 2.5L engine and an electric motor. The hybrid engine is quiet and delivers outstanding fuel efficiency. The EPA estimates the Escape Hybrid produces 44 mpg city and 37 mpg highway.
With the Escape Hybrid, you can also plug in for the ultimate convenience and efficiency. The Escape Plug-In Hybrid has the same engine as the standard hybrid, but you can charge it with a Level1/Level 2 charging port designed for home use. If you opt to charge using a Level 1 charger, you can use a standard wall outlet and have a fully charged battery in 11 hours. Charging with the optional Level 2 charger reduces the time to charge to 3.5 to 4.5 hours.
Trim Levels
The Escape seats five passengers with four trim levels: S, SE, SEL, and Titanium. The base trim comes with a 1.5L engine with FWD or optional intelligent AWD. Upgrading to the SE trim adds the popular infotainment system with SYNC 3 and a touchscreen.
The SEL trim level adds many comfort and convenience features, including heated front seats, a hands-free liftgate, remote start, and rear parking sensors. The top-of-the-line Titanium adds built-in navigation and a 12.3-inch digital instrument display.
Spacious Cabin
The 2022 Escape cabin is roomy and versatile, with plenty of legroom and cargo space. The 60/40 split seats fold down, providing space for all of your gear. The second-row seats also slide, providing more cargo space or maximizing leg room.
Safety Features
With Ford Co-Pilot 360, you have advanced driver assistance and safety technologies available. With features like park assist, adaptive cruise control, rear camera, and lane keep assist, you have a suite of advanced features designed to help you drive more confidently.
Technology
The Escape has an assortment of advanced technology and convenience features. With Ford Pass Connect, you’ll be able to enjoy the available Wi-Fi hotspot. Power up to ten devices at a time on the hotspot, and you can rest assured that everyone in the car is connected. Wireless charging on the Escape also ensures that your devices remain charged up and ready.
The infotainment system comes standard with an 8-inch touchscreen display (SE trims and higher). Alexa is built-in, so you can use voice commands to get directions, access your to-do list, or unlock your car doors!
