The Commanding Powertrains

The 2025 edition of the Maverick comes standard with an eco-friendly 2.5-liter hybrid powertrain with a continuously variable transmission and front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is available. This gas-sipping powertrain averages 40 miles to the gallon in the city when equipped with all-wheel drive.

There is also an available 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine with all-wheel drive. Both engines come standard with 2,000 pounds of towing capacity. A maximum towing capacity of 4,000 pounds can be achieved with the available 4K Tow package.

The New Trims

This year, Ford offers the Maverick in the XL, XLT, Lobo, Lariat, and Tremor trims. The Lobo and Tremor variants are new additions to the lineup for 2025. The Lobo trim is a performance-oriented option that pairs the EcoBoost engine with a 7-Speed Quick Shift transmission with paddle shifters. Its smooth handling is supported by performance-tuned steering and suspension.

The top-tier Tremor trim is perfectly designed for off-roading adventures. This variant is also equipped with the EcoBoost engine, but pairs this with an eight-speed automatic transmission and advanced 4WD. Skid plates, exposed front tow hooks, and a 17-inch spare tire add confidence when heading off the beaten path. The Tremor’s minimum running ground clearance gets a lift from the standard 8.1 inches to an impressive 8.3 inches.

The Versatile Pickup Bed

Every Maverick comes with a 4.5-foot-long pickup bed. You’ll have six standard tie-downs for securing your cargo. The multi-position tailgate can be locked in a half-closed position. This gives you extra room for hauling longer items.

Ford’s FLEXBED system helps you make the most of your cargo area. With notches along the bed wall for 2×4 or 2×6 boards, you can easily create DIY segmented storage spaces for organizing and securing groceries, tools, or work supplies.

The Huge Touchscreen

Ford chose a beautiful 13.2-inch touchscreen bound to win over any technophile. This excellent display has swipe capability.
