Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2022 Ford Ranger comes available in three trim levels: XL, XLT, and LARIAT. Each trim level has a single rear exhaust and a spare tire carrier in the rear underframe. As an add-on option plan for each trim, you can select five-inch, rectangular running boards in black. You have other options for the running boards in the XLT and the LARIAT, which are five-inch, rectangular running boards in chrome and Tremor step bars in black off-road, hoop style. For the bumper, they each have one in the front that's frame-mounted in steel.
The XL has manual tailgate locking and an add-on plan for power tailgate locking. Power tailgate locking comes as a standard feature in the XLT and LARIAT.
Engine (Power)
Underneath the hood of each trim level, there's a 2.3-liter Eco-Boost Engine. Each fuel tank holds 18 gallons with each automatic transmission at a 10-speed Select-Shift. You can enjoy the same drive train in each trim level with features such as four-by-two, an Electronic-Shift-On-the-Fly, which is a four-by-four only, an axle, and in the front with independent front suspension. There are also available add-on plans for the drive train with features like four-by-four and electronic-locking rear differential. As for steering, all the trim levels have an electronic power assist.
As an add-on plan available to you in all trims is a Terrain Management System with four selectable driving modes.
Performance
Ford built the 2022 Ford Ranger to perform at its best for you and all your driving needs. As you're driving each trim, you can enjoy the Ford Co-Pilot360 Technology with the Trailer Sway Control function and the add-on feature of Ford Trail Control. No need to worry about trailer control because all trim levels have you covered with four-pin wiring, ball mounting provisions in a rear bumper trailer towing. For the suspension, each has an independent short-long arm and solid stabilizer bar.
Interior
Inside each trim, you'll find a maximum of five seats for you and your passengers. In the XLT and LARIAT for climate control, enjoy dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control, while in the XL you can enjoy the single-zone manual air conditioning. The XL has dual-zone climate control as an add-on package you can request. The flooring in the XL has black vinyl floor covering, with an add-on option for color-coordinated carpet with carpeted floor mats, which is the standard for the XLT and LARIAT.
For your display in the XLT and LARIAT, enjoy a 4.2-inch color productivity screen in the instrument cluster, which is an add-on package for the XL.
Safety Features
