Perfect for animal and nature lovers, this zoo, situated on 30 acres of farmland, is home to over 125 animals. 6. Red Oak Lavender Farm

Step into a relaxing dream that shouldn’t be possible. Despite experts stating that lavender can’t be grown in Georgia, this farm boasts 2000 lavender plants. Blooming between May and September, visit these lavender fields and stun your senses. Take note that as culinary lavender is grown here, pets are not permitted.

7. Ghost Tours

In the mood for something spooky? Entertain your teenage kids (ages 13 and over) with a tour of the paranormal Hotspots of Dahlonega. Ghost sightings are a part of Dahlonega’s past and local expert Jeremy Sharp will take you on a thrilling tour of the town, including the historically significant cemetery.
