2025 Ford Explorer

The 2025 Ford Explorer is available in four trims: Active, ST-Line, ST, and Platinum. The Active trim features 18-inch aluminum wheels with Carbonized Gray finish and a black mesh grille with chrome accents. The ST-Line elevates the exterior with 20-inch machined aluminum wheels with black-painted pockets, a high-gloss black mesh grille, and black exterior accents. The performance-oriented ST stands out with 21-inch aluminum wheels with performance tires, blackout LED headlamps and taillamps, and quad chrome exhaust tips. The top-tier Platinum showcases 20-inch bright-machined aluminum wheels with premium paint, a satin aluminum grille, and adaptive headlamps with Satin Chrome exterior accents. All trims feature a redesigned front grille with a bolder mesh pattern and slimmer headlights. Two new exterior colors, Abyss Gray Metallic and Desert Gold, are available across the lineup.

The Active, ST-Line, and Platinum trims come standard with a 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 engine generating 300 horsepower and 310 lb.-ft of torque. The ST trim, and optionally the Platinum, features a more powerful 3.0L EcoBoost V6 engine producing 400 horsepower and 415 lb.-ft of torque. All models pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-Wheel Drive comes standard, while Intelligent Four-Wheel Drive is available across all trims. The EcoBoost engines incorporate direct injection and turbocharging technology to deliver strong performance while maintaining fuel efficiency.

The ST trim accelerates from 0-60 mph in 5.2 seconds. The Terrain Management System with seven drive modes (Normal, Eco, Sport, Tow/Haul, Slippery, Deep Snow/Sand, and Trail) optimizes vehicle performance for various conditions. The ST features a sport-tuned suspension with specialized calibration for enhanced handling. All trims can tow up to 5,000 pounds when properly equipped. Ground clearance ranges from 7.6 to 8.2 inches depending on the trim. The 2.3L EcoBoost with RWD delivers 20 MPG city and 29 MPG highway, while the 3.0L EcoBoost returns 18 MPG city and 25 MPG highway in both RWD and 4WD configurations.

A 13.2-inch center touchscreen display and 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster are standard across all trims. The Active trim features ActiveX seating material, while the ST-Line, ST, and Platinum upgrade to leather-trimmed seating surfaces. The ST and Platinum trims include a premium B&O Sound System with 12 speakers and wireless charging. The Platinum trim adds second-row captain's chairs and a twin-panel moonroof. Heated front seats and tri-zone automatic climate control come standard on all models. The ST and Platinum trims include heated and ventilated front seats. Cargo capacity measures 85.3 cubic feet behind the first row, 46.0 cubic feet behind the second row, and 16.3 cubic feet behind the third row.

Ford Co-Pilot360 Technology comes standard on all trims, including Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, BLIS with Cross-Traffic Alert, and Lane-Keeping System. The ST and Platinum trims add Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go. ST-Line, ST, and Platinum trims feature a 360-degree camera system. Evasive Steering Assist, Post-Collision Braking, and Auto High-Beam Headlights are standard across the lineup. Additional available safety features include Reverse Brake Assist, Intersection Assist 2.2, and Road Edge Detection.
