Whether you're in the market for a sturdy work vehicle or a family-friendly pickup, the 2020 Ford F-150 is a vehicle to consider. It boasts one of the highest towing and hauling capacities, but you can just as easily fit your family inside the extended cab. The truck also has many different trims, powertrains, and bed lengths available. more Trim Levels (Exterior) There are seven trims to choose from with the 2020 Ford F-150: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Limited, and Raptor. Also, there are three different cab styles available, with the Regular Cab seating three and the SuperCab and SuperCrew seating up to six passengers. You also have three different bed lengths to choose from. The two lowest trims are the only ones offered with all three cabs and all three bed lengths. Engine (Power) The 2020 F-150 offers a half-dozen powerful engine options. The base 3.3-liter V-6 engine produces 290 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque, while there are other V-6 engines available. Standard on the Lariat, there's a 2.7-liter turbocharged V-6 that produces 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. There's also a 3.5-liter turbocharged V-6 that produces 375 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque and a 3.5-liter high-output turbocharged V-6 with 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. Standard on the King Ranch and Platinum trims, the 5.0-liter V-8 engine produces 395 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. You can also get a 3.0-liter turbo diesel V-6 with 250 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque. For 2020, the truck comes standard with a 10-speed automatic transmission with all engines, replacing the six-speed automatic one that was available with select engines. The vehicle also comes standard with rear-wheel drive. Performance The F-150 offers some of the best fuel economy numbers in its class. With the base engine and rear-wheel drive, you get an EPA-estimated 19 miles per gallon in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. The smaller V-6 engine gives you 20 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, while the larger V-6 or the V-8 engine gives you 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway. The turbo V-6 engine provides 17 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway. When properly equipped, the vehicle can tow a maximum of 13,200 pounds and has a maximum payload capacity of 3,270 pounds. Interior Although the base trim is more like a work vehicle, offering minimal interior amenities, there are numerous upgrades available in all trims. Among the highlights include a touch-screen infotainment system, massaging seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and leather upholstery. Safety Features The 2020 F-150 comes standard with several safety features including pedestrian detection, emergency braking, forward collision warning, and a rearview camera. Active safety features available include lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and driver drowsiness monitoring.
