2020 Ford Fusion For teenagers, getting a driver’s license means freedom. They can come and go as they please, without having to rely on mom and dad for a ride. It also means lots of worry for their parents. Well, the new Fusion is a great vehicle new drivers, and it has plenty of features mom and dad will love too. Here’s a look at some of the best features of the 2020 Ford Fusion.

Efficiency

Let’s face it, teenagers don’t exactly have a steady stream of money flowing in. Most are working entry-level jobs for minimum wage, so they can’t really afford a lot. Gas is expensive, so finding a fuel efficient car is important. The Fusion fits the bill. It has gas, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid powertrain to choose from, and all of them provide excellent fuel savings. The gas-only engine gets up to 23 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway, so it’s an excellent option for those looking for fuel savings.

The hybrid version gets up to 43 mpg in the city and 41 mpg on the highway, and the younger generation knows the importance of going green, which the hybrid accomplishes. The plug-in hybrid takes green to the next level. It gets an astounding 109 mpg in the city and 97 mpg on the highway. It also has a total driving range of 610 miles and a range of 26 miles on electric-only power.

Driver-assist Technology

The Fusion can be equipped with a suite of driver-assist technologies designed to keep you safer on the road. Parents love them because they know teenagers are new to driving and are often distracted or slow to react because of their inexperience.

Every Fusion is equipped with Ford Co-Pilot360, which includes pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking. This system monitors the road ahead and will alert the driver with visual and audio cues to a potential collision. The system will even apply brake pressure should you fail to react in time. Ford’s blind-spot information system alerts you when a vehicle enters your blind spot. The cross-traffic alert system will alert you when a vehicle or pedestrian crosses behind you while in reverse. This is particularly useful in busy parking lots.

Smart Technology

Standard on the Fusion is Ford’s Sync3 technology. Access all your devices through the capacitive touch screen or use simple voice commands. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability allow you to send and receive calls, texts, access music, and more all hands-free. The Fusion can be equipped with FordPass Connect as well. This system turns your Fusion into a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. You can connect up to 10 devices, and it has a range of up to 50 feet.

Style

Ford’s SE Appearance Package for the Fusion comes with great style points, and for teens, image is everything. This package includes 18-inch ebony black-painted wheels, bright chrome trim with black bezels, halogen fog lamps, and a rear spoiler.

Teens will love the Fusion for its style, efficiency, and technology, and so will their parents. Come test drive one today, and see which features you and your teen will fall in love with.
